仙台観光国際協会（SenTIA）は、SENDAI留学生自転車リサイクル事業推進協議会の一員として、毎年、リサイクル自転車販売会を開催しています。

この販売会は、母国を離れて生活する留学生を支援するため、1995年（平成7年）から始まりました。2020年の新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により一時的に販売会を中止していましたが、2022年10月、3年半ぶりに販売会を開催、100名以上の来日間もない留学生が駆けつけ、抽選により30台の自転車を完売しています。

ここで販売される自転車は、放置自転車を仙台市から譲り受け、市内の自転車店の協力により整備されたものです。自転車には1年間の保険が付帯されており、賠償責任補償等が含まれています。

協議会のメンバーである宮城県自転車軽自動車協働組合の方々をはじめ、仙台ライオンズクラブ、グループ杜、SenTIAが協力し販売会を開催します。また、仙台市自転車交通安全課が安全講習会を実施し、日本の交通ルールを学ぶ場にもなっています。

As a member of the Sendai Recycled Bicycles for International Students Project Promotion Committee, the Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association (SenTIA) hosts annual recycled bicycle sales.

The recycle bicycle sales started in 1995 to support international students who are living far away from home. Although the event was paused due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, it was resumed 3 and a half years later in October 2022. With more than 100 international students participating in the sale, all 30 bicycles were sold out.

Bicycles sold at this event are abandoned bicycles collected by the City of Sendai that were refurbished by local bicycle shops. The bicycles are sold with a one-year insurance which includes liability compensation and more.

Other than the Miyagi Bicycle and Light Vehicle Association, which is a member of the aforementioned committee, organizations such as Sendai Lions Club and Group Mori also cooperate with SenTIA to host the recycle bicycle sales. The Sendai City Bicycle Traffic Safety Department also hosts safety orientations during the sales, which serve as opportunities for international students to learn about Japanese traffic rules.
